Auctions and proxy bids
Win free agents and listed players at auction with a private proxy maximum.
Free agents and any player a club lists go to a public auction. Everyone sees the current high bid and who's leading. Nobody sees how high a rival is actually willing to go.
Set a proxy, not a watch
Instead of babysitting the clock, set a private proxy maximum: the most you're willing to pay. The system auto-bids on your behalf, taking the lead just above a rival's bid, up to your ceiling. Your maximum never shows to anyone else.
The minimum next bid
A new bid has to clear the current one by at least $100,000, or 5% of it, whichever is larger.
Duration and anti-snipe
An auction runs for 24 hours by default. A bid placed in the last three minutes pushes the deadline out to three minutes from that bid, so a last-second snipe always leaves the field time to answer.
At close
When the clock finally runs out, the player joins the club that was leading, at the amount they were visibly leading with, not their hidden proxy maximum.

Your proxy max reserves budget for as long as you lead. See Budget and reservations.
