Leagues
The league lifecycle
Setup, planning, preseason, active, paused, and completed: what changes at each stage.
A league moves through a fixed sequence of stages.
The stages
- Setup: a brief moment while the league is being created. You'll rarely see it.
- Planning: a lightweight lobby. No squads exist yet; managers just reserve a team name. The commissioner starts the season when everyone's in.
- Preseason(optional): the world is generated (squads, fixtures). Managers claim and customize clubs and set lineups. The commissioner can turn on non-counting friendlies. The table doesn't count yet.
- Active: the real competition. Matches count toward the table. New players can still take over a bot club any time.
- Paused: the commissioner can pause an active league (an unplanned break, a slow patch). Nothing advances until it's resumed.
- Completed: the season is over. The league keeps a permanent record; see Seasons and records.
What can go wrong
Preseason friendlies never affect the league table. They're a warm-up, shown in the feed but not the standings.
